1. Discount Benefits for Youth with the Climate Companion Card

Individuals aged 19 to 39 can receive special discounts when recharging the 30-day Climate Companion Card. The 30-day pass without Ttareungi typically costs 62,000 KRW, but with the youth discount, it's available for 55,000 KRW. The 30-day pass including Ttareungi is normally priced at 65,000 KRW, reduced to 58,000 KRW with the discount. To avail of this discount, users must sign up on the T-money Card & Pay website, complete the youth age verification, register the physical Climate Companion Card, and select the 'Youth Discount' option when recharging at subway vending machines. ​

 

2. Convenience and Benefits of the Postpaid Climate Companion Card

In addition to the prepaid Climate Companion Card, a postpaid version linked to credit cards has been introduced. This card allows unlimited use of designated transportation modes and routes, with charges capped at a monthly limit. It is available through major card companies such as Shinhan Card, KB Kookmin Card, and NH Nonghyup Card. After issuance, users should register the card on the T-money website to activate its benefits. ​

Holders of the Climate Companion Card can receive discounts at certain cultural facilities. For instance, some museums and art galleries operated by Seoul offer reduced admission fees to cardholders. 4. Important Considerations and Additional Benefits When Using the Climate Companion Card

The Climate Companion Card allows unlimited use on Seoul's subways, the Gimpo Gold Line, Seoul city-licensed city and village buses, and the public bicycle system, Ttareungi. However, it cannot be used on certain lines such as the Shinbundang Line, express buses, and airport buses.

For buses, even if boarding or alighting occurs outside of Seoul, as long as the bus is licensed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the card remains valid. In contrast, for the subway, users must board and exit within the designated coverage area—boarding within the range but exiting beyond it will result in the card being unusable for that trip. Therefore, users should be mindful of the applicable routes and zones when planning their travel.
